According to The Wall Street Journal, U.S. security agencies are investigating attacks on computer systems of the Nasdaq stock market.
The attacks did not compromise the systems behind the trading platform, but has not yet been definitely determined that other systems are affected by these attacks. According to preliminary information, the attackers were only studied systems, and investigators as a motive for the attacks discussed endangering national security, personal financial gain, and theft of trade secrets. Investigators have failed to link the attacks to specific individuals or countries, but according to information from persons knowledgeable in the investigation there is some evidence pointing to Russia, although it is suspected that the attackers used Russia only in order to conceal the traces of their activities.
For now, no official comments of these articles by Nasdaq.
